What Is Guidance Value?
In Karnataka, guidance values are notified by the government (through valuation committees) for areas, streets and survey numbers. When you register a property, stamp duty and registration fees are calculated on the higher of the declared transaction value and the guidance value. Guidance values are revised periodically, so the figure that applies is the one in force on the date of registration.
