Why RERA Matters for Plots
Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, plotted projects above 500 sq.m. or more than eight plots must be registered with the state RERA before they are advertised, marketed, booked or sold. Registration requires the promoter to disclose land title, approvals, the layout plan, timelines and plot details, and to deposit a share of buyer funds in a designated account for the project.
